- We have years of history in spreadsheets. Does it have to come across?
- No. Most contractors bring across what is live, meaning current staff, plant, clients, rates and open work, and keep the old files for reference. Old jobs are usually needed for lookups rather than for running anything, and importing years of dead records mostly imports years of mistakes.
- Who does the setup, us or you?
- We do. You supply the lists and tell us how you work, and we configure the account, load the data and check it with you before anyone relies on it.
- What format do you need our data in?
- A spreadsheet. CSV or Excel, exported from whatever you use now, whether that is a scheduling tool, a payroll system, an accounting package or the spreadsheet itself. We do not need it in a particular shape, because we do the mapping.
- Do we have to stop using our current system on day one?
- No, and we would not suggest it. Running the two alongside each other for a short period is normal, so your office can check that what comes out of OMBR matches what they expected before anything is switched off.
- Our crews are not good with phones. Is that a problem?
- The field app is deliberately narrow. A controller opens the shift, does a prestart, takes photos, and gets the docket signed. It is fewer steps than a group chat and a docket book, and there is nothing to file at the end of the night.
- Does the app work where there is no reception?
- Yes. Crews can complete a shift and get a docket signed with unreliable reception, and it syncs when there is signal again. Sites in cuttings and tunnels are normal traffic control work, not an edge case.
- Can we keep our current accounting or payroll system?
- Yes. OMBR produces the pay run and the invoice lines from signed dockets and sends them on rather than replacing your ledger. Speak to us about which packages connect and how.
- What happens to our data if we leave?
- It is yours. You can export it at any time while your subscription is active. After it ends we keep it for 60 days so you can export it or reactivate, then delete it. That is written into our terms of service, not left to goodwill.
- What if we get a busy month and go over our plan?
- We tell you and work out which plan fits. We may stop new records being created past a plan’s capacity, but we will not delete or lock you out of work you have already entered because of a limit.
- How much of our time does this take?
- The heaviest part is you telling us how you quote and roster, because that is the part only you know. Pulling the lists out of your current system is usually an afternoon. We do the rest.
